New vision in the shadows of the past...

Ok so it will come out eventually...I am not a fan of higher education. I think it is great when someone decides to go off to college as long as that is the call God put on them as an individual but this has never been for me. I'm the girl who loves the quote "All I need to know I learned in kindergarten". BUT (see don't judge) this past year God has been fueling a passion to learn more about how "Christians" got where we are and how far we have left the purpose and direction of the Bride of Christ. I have learned so much about our founders and the rebels who kept to the call of Christ. These amazing Men and Women should be known and spoken of as much as we speak of our modern day pastor preacher evangelist. So I am going to try and give them the props they are due when I can. Maybe it could be a weekly thing...

David Brainard
A young missionary to the American Indians. He lived a hard life full of ailments and struggles with depression, through all this he pressed on for the upward call of Christ. When he was too sick and had become bedridden, he moved into the home of Jonathan Edwards (another great man  for another day) There Edwards would watch and take note of the intensity of this young mans prayer life. He died at the age of 29. After his passing, Jonathan Edwards would compile all his journals and write one of the most important books; aside from the bible, every christian should read. The fire this one young man had, lite the flame of many many others who would carry that same flame to us to this day... a few of the men who attribute some passion for prayer because of David Brainard : William Carey, Jim Elliot, John Wesley was quoted as saying " Let every preacher read carefully over the Life of David Brainerd",  E.M. Bounds, Leonard Ravenhill, Robert Murray McCheyne to mention a few

* I highly encourage you to read more about him

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about a guy just like us who was weak and scarred and was used for greatness through the saving grace of a Holy God.

Happily Ever After

I hate to just jump right in to my obsessions, but since I am obsessed I can't help it...I love searching sites online. I love finding awesome deals or new ways to use old things. Today my Honey sent me a random site for me to "check out" and i'm amazed. The site is called Apt 2B (http://www.apt2b.com/ ) the reason for the amazement is that we had friends earlier this year get married and they had the struggle of trying to create their own happily ever after. That meant hours and gas traveling from shop to shop for the necessities to make their apt a home. I had an "if I had only known" moment. This is a site where you can create and purchase your "new home(apartment)" needs from scratch...EVEN A TOOTHBRUSH! I can not stop creating and starting over and creating homes. You are able to select individual items also but we can do that everywhere, the fun part is creating a complete home. The options are Penthouse @ $3388.00 Deluxe @ $2388.00 and Studio @ $1688.00 .That's right the whole kit n kaboodle.  I have to say I wish I had this when I was starting off. Believe me I would have saved a few shekels to say the least. Anyone starting out in a new place, go check it out. seems pretty awesome.

phew! now that the itch is gone I can relax...

I have been asked by some friends about what the purpose or goal of the blog is, pretty much the direction and to tell you the truth I never thought about it. I thought about focusing on PCOS which is something I have be diagnosed with and want to raise awareness about or home decor or even about being married and the struggles we have encountered but as much as I could write about a topic, it will never make up who I am completely. So I guess there is no goal for this bloggity blog other than to capture a glimpse at what shinny object caught my eye at any given point and what God has shown me or spoke to me or didn't.

Either way I hope you come along and have fun and get excited and laugh with me and I'm sure there will be tears..eek

I'm a painter and I want to paint you a lovely world

After much prayer and debate, I am here in all the blogging glory. This will be a place where all things April go...everything should have a place i think =D Each one of these post will be another piece of me, a part of my life or thoughts or general passions...Feel free to explore or share a thought or a prayer or whatever you would like. A few things about me : I'm totally in love with love..., I am completely obsessed with decorating and re-decorating and then back again, not to mention the D.I.Y obsession I have, I am married to a musician and as anyone who is married to one knows it takes a special person for this job but i wouldn't trade it for THE WORLD!! He is my best friend and I love to be around him. He is the funniest person I know, I laugh hard..I cry every time. I think that the most important aspect of who I am would lie in who's I am... I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I am His. A favorite quote of mine was given to me this past weekend..."My identity lies in the palms of Jesus" Bianca Olthoff (Juarez)
